Rafael Rodon is the Executive Vice President in charge of project development for Flagler. He is responsible for pre-development project issues including land use, environmental, traffic and general governmental regulation, as well as property acquisition and seller issues for Flagler projects. In this capacity, he has directed work on projects including Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club, Beacon Centre, LagoMar Subdivision, Beacon TradePort, Beacon Station and Beacon Lakes, among others. Third-party clients for similar services include CSR Rinker, Titan Tarmac, and SYSCO Foods, among others.
Rodon joined Flagler in 1988, formerly Codina Group, Inc. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Miami-Dade County Building and Zoning Department. He also worked with the Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management. Rodon was appointed by Governor Bush to the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Board of Directors and has also served on the City of Miami’s Planning and Zoning Department FEC Task Force. He currently chairs the Environmental Subcommittee of the Builders Association of South Florida and has been recognized by the Building Industry Association for his achievements as a board member and committee chair.
A registered professional engineer, Rodon holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Miami.
