Flagler recognizes that sustainable designs are not only good for the environment, but also good for business, people, and the communities in which we live and work.
As a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Flagler has demonstrated leadership and foresight in this burgeoning arena of commercial real estate through its track record of completed projects and an ongoing commitment to going green the right way.
Always at the forefront, Flagler has become Florida’s leading developer of sustainable infill developments, with such notable projects as Beacon Lakes and Downtown Doral.
Flagler is also considered a model for developing top-tier properties that embody high ideals of green living and working. These attributes are best illustrated in several recent projects including, Bacardi USA’s 250,000-square-foot headquarters facility in Coral Gables, Fla.; Cordoba, a 224-unit luxury rental complex located in Downtown Doral in Doral, Fla.; and 8333 Downtown Doral, the first for-lease office building in Downtown Doral.
As Flagler saw the great value and growing emphasis that owners and tenants alike were placing on eco-friendly, eco-conscious property development, we encouraged our staff of professionals to become experts and work towards LEED certification in their particular field of expertise-construction, development, management, etc. As a result, each of Flagler’s green projects involves a LEED-accredited professional from our staff who can direct the entire development team and liaison with all parties to ensure that all sustainability objectives are being met.
The successes of Flagler’s LEED certified projects have also helped lay the foundation for a best-practices approach where all future projects will now have to meet a minimum set of sustainable requirements.
